The pavilion is a traditional Chinese architecture that originated in the Zhou Dynasty. Mostly built along roadsides for pedestrians to rest, cool off, or enjoy the scenery, usually located in gardens, parks, or courtyards.

The pavilion has a long history

In ancient times, transportation was limited and ordinary people did not have cars or horses. They had to walk on two feet to go out for long distances. Once the weather suddenly changed, with wind and rain, there was no place to hide. So a pavilion was built on the roadside to provide shelter from wind and rain, sun and shade, and used for resting. In the Qin and Han dynasties, as an administrative region, the pavilion was divided into two parts: one for every ten miles, with a long pavilion. The ten pavilions were divided into one township, with three elders in charge of education, one for rank, one for serfs, and one for tourists. The three elders were in charge of education, the one for serfs was responsible for listening to lawsuits and collecting taxes, and the one for tourists was responsible for prohibiting thieves and thieves. Thus, the origin of the five mile short pavilion and the ten mile long pavilion came into being.

During the Song Dynasty, the architectural craftsmanship of pavilions gradually became exquisite, and more pavilions were passed down or recorded. With the rise of private gardens, pavilions have also widely entered private gardens, and their scale and form have become more diverse.

Modern craftsmanship of pavilions

With the progress and development of the times, modern pavilions have become more functional and their manufacturing materials are more advanced and sturdy.

From the previous wooden or stone structures to the current copper materials, the overall durability and corrosion resistance of copper pavilions are one of their main advantages. At the same time, they have a longer service life and can be used for decades.

Xiong Rui craftsmen designed pavilions inspired by the "New Chinese Style", with exquisite structures and smooth lines that not only convey the profound cultural heritage of traditional culture, but also experience the unique charm of incorporating modern elements.

The pavilion stands tall in the courtyard without fear of wind and rain, and can be paired with lighting to create a romantic atmosphere at night.

Traditional culture of pavilions

The design of traditional Chinese pavilions maximizes the introduced scenery, broadening our line of sight. During the day, we can enjoy the baptism of sunlight, and at night, we can appreciate the vastness of the starry sky. It makes your courtyard environment full of style.

Pavilions are not only a form of architecture, but also a culture, a clever combination of architecture and art, a dialogue between architecture and ancient people, and a reflection of beauty in daily life. Build a pavilion and enjoy the pleasant scenery of the four seasons.
