Why is Shanfa Temple so popular?
In November 1985, it was approved as a religious venue open to the outside world and listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Huangyan. In April 1994, it was approved as a religious activity venue. In 2003, it was rated as one of the key temples in the province.
Master Shi Guangyang and Master Zhao Guan have made a grand vow to build a Medicine Buddha Pagoda for the physical health of Taizhou people.
The foundation was laid at the end of 2009 when the temple was built for a millennium. Construction began on June 28, 2012 and was completed by the end of 2014. Standing 72 meters high and 28 meters wide, this nine story Medicine Buddha Pagoda enshrines seven Buddhas and Medicine Buddha statues. The small Medicine Buddha statue is made of colorful glass, with each floor displaying the same color as the main deity. An eight story Medicine God's Altar City, a 3.5-ton Peace and Auspicious Bell hanging on the ninth floor, an underground palace on the first floor, towering above the mountains, descending above the sky, clear in the wind, and tranquil on the earth. A temple stands tall and adds to the world's pure land.
The Xiongrui Copper Engineering team is fortunate to participate in the construction of the Medicine King Buddha Pagoda and other related projects, striving to help more people understand Chinese Buddhist culture and rebuild and showcase the essence of traditional Chinese architectural art.
Unlike the traditional mud tiles commonly used in temples, the construction of Shanfa Temple fully adopts copper tiles to cover the roof. After years of experience in design, research and development, mold making, and installation, the bottom tile adopts a continuous tile with multiple interconnected structures to meet the requirements of waterproof structure. The cross section is in the shape of a water droplet U, and the two side baffles are higher than the middle, which perfectly solves the problem of rainwater diversion.
The ceiling adopts exquisite and elegant patterns, with bright colors yet dignified and solemn. Compared to ordinary color painting, copper processed with unique techniques is easier to clean and has a longer maintenance time. |
